Contrary to posts here of his firing--He wont leave(see link) !!

Normally coach firings are handled by Johny "Sack", who specializes in "terminating coaches"...
but as this Jersey guy, Fred Hill, at Rutgers,  wont leave for $600k, the Rutgers crew, headed by Timmy "Tight End" Pernetti, may turn to Tony's crew to make him an offer he cant refuse.
Paulie and Christopher  just dug a new hole in the end zone at the meadowlands-- Hill should worry.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

The person they REALLY need to fire is the AD who created this whole mess far too late to do anything about it.

Timmy "Tight End" Pernetti's only experience is as a successful TV sports network exec. and color man; not in college sports admin. He is simply a Rutgers alum, maybe a little in over his head.

It was prior AD, Robert E. Mulcahy, that gave Fred Hill the contract extension in 2008...to 2013, that they are having trouble now buying out.

Fred Hill should just enlist DWade, judging from over on the superbar.  He isnt afraid of that garbage.

Are you kidding?  The AD probably deserves a nice bonus out of this.

Pernetti didn't hire Hill--that was on his predecessor.  And its obvious to everyone that Hill needs to go--sooner rather than later.

Worst case is Rutgers winds up paying Hill the full amount anyway.  Best case is that Hill presses the issue, loses, and Rutgers gets rid of him for free.  I don't think Hill is stupid enough to do that--not when he has a minimum of $600K in his pocket to start.  Plus, if Hill takes Rutgers to court, he doesn't work in college basketball again.  He can still get a decent assistant's job somewhere based on his recruiting ability.

My guess is eventually Hill counters--perhaps a 50/50 split--and Rutgers winds up saving $900K.
