Luke Winn put his weekly power rankings up. I wasn't surprised that we weren't in his Top 16, but when I looked at his "on the cusp" category, it made me scratch my head.

ON THE CUSP: Butler, Duke, Texas, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, UNLV, Stanford, Oregon, Tennessee, Alabama, Drexel, Winthrop, Appalachian State, Villanova.

Some things made me wonder here. We're not one of the Top 30 teams in his opinion (since he had 14 teams on the cusp). Second, didn't we just beat Villanova on Monday, and yet they are on the cusp? Bama just lost to Tennessee. Vanderbilt got clocked by Miss St.

I never put too much time and effort into thinking about these expert polls, but this one seemed a little off.

Strange indeed.

Surprised nobody else has mentioned this, it wasn't just "another" loss for Villanova - it was their worse margin of defeat for the year with 13pts.  Not like we pummeled them or anything, but they don't lose by a lot of points...

I love how last week everyone was freaking out about Duke and them maybe not making the tournament... they win 1 or 2 games.. and they are back to being great.

pure genius stuff by Bill Simmons, remember to read day 2

Must have been an oversight.

He's been talking us up at various points this season.

I doubt that he meant to leave us out of the "cusp."

MUFanInGreenBay

Didn't he have us like at #11 or something last week? He had to make mistake leaving us out of the "on the cusp" category. No way did can we drop that far after losing to Louisville on Sat. night and then beating Nova' on Monday.

He had us at #13 last week, and he does usually give us good coverage.  I agree with those that call it an oversight.
