Cornell Or Baylor Likely Champ

Both are playing the NCAA Regional in their backyards. Huge fan support expected, especially for Cornell, who's in the midst of their first tourney run. Add to that, opponents of these fine schools and their fans have to travel from such far away places as CA, WA, and NC. In other words, bet the mortgage one of these schools playing in the semis and winning the whole shabang.

If Cornell knocks off Kentucky I will once again believe in the basketball gods of justice.  Of course, the gods will probably vacate the win sonner of later thanks to Coach Cal, but I prefer sooner.

Let's not get carried away with Cornell. I went to graduate school there and while Ithaca may only be 90 minutes from the Carrier Dome, there really isn't such a huge following that Cornell fans will outnumber well-traveling UK fans. We were hoping the Syracuse game would be a different day because Syracuse fans will no doubt root for the Big Red. Unfortunately, the Syracuse fans (some of them, anyways) are dumping their tickets because they play the same night. And, I have a good idea who is buying them....and they don't wear red.

I've been saying for awhile Baylor is for real..I'm quite confident they will beat St. Mary's, and at very least will give Duke/Purdue a hell of a run for their money to get into Final Four.

I agree on Baylor, especially playing their next 2 games in Houston.  Cornell, I fear, has reached the end of the line.
