I went to the first session of NCAA games in Milwaukee today with a buddy of mine that is a St. Joe's grad. He was really impressed with our post game visit to The Al and then the team walked in from their tournament trip. The players, Tony Benford and staff were great! They couldn't have been nicer. These guys are great people and it was great to see how they interact together. It's great to see that they are more than just great players!

I had too much GREAT beer before posting.
Tony Benford stopped and introduced himself to us. I expressed to him and Lazar that they had a lot to be proud of. I also expressed to them that they blew away expectations this season. They were both very gracious. Lazar sure seemed to be the quality individual we hear about.
I was really impressed with the camaraderie amongst the team and staff. They were all chipping in and helping each other unload each others bags. It wasn't a bunch of individuals grabbing their own stuff and splitting. The homeless gentlemen the team has befriended was chipping in as well. It was GREAT to see.

I'm not worried about height so much next year as who is going to replace Lazar's leadership.  Logically it would be Butler, but I'm not sure he has the personality for it.  Lazar was great and will be missed.  This is just another example.  Thanks for the post.

I think we saw a lot of "big brother/little brother" this year from Lazar/Jimmy.  Look at Lazar's leadership role prior to this year: it was virtually non-existent, yet he was able to fill a huge void left from the lack of DJ Wes and Jerel.  I have little doubt Jimmy will complete a similar transition despite how weak he is on the court
