No offense, but posting the job is a procedural issue.  Many schools do this when it comes to searches even if they never have intention of seriously looking at anyone who applies through this.

Bingo.  Pretty sure that they are required to do so by law in order to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.  That was the story when MU had the exact same sort of posting in the past.

Takes me back to when I applied for Michigan's head football job a couple years ago.  Additionally, for people trying to stay on unemployment, these postings are a godsend.

Maybe they thought that I was going to Kiffin their asses and go back to my coaching roots after just one season.  (For the record, those roots are in CYM basketball, so they really had nothing to worry about)
