best-written description I've seen of our coach.

From The Article...

"Veteran referee John Cahill, who worked Thursday's game, walked by Williams in the Madison Square Garden tunnel and said to the reporter who was interviewing him, "He's a little nuts, but he can coach."

That's it in a nutshell.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Who's getting carried away?

Consider that Al, God, Abraham Lincoln, Ghandi and St. Joan of Arc were playing poker one night when God and Ghandi get into a little tiff about reincarnation (the substance isn't important, only the topic).  The conversation starts getting a little heated when Al whispers something to Abe (inaudibly) and this takes both God and Ghandi aback as neither of them are used to being interrupted.  Al apologizes saying he meant no disrespect but he just didn't understand the who reincarnation thing.   Of course, Ghandi is slightly offended by this (FYI - Ghandi does get offended from time to time, he just doesn't show it on the outside), and suggests that Al "should not speak of which he does not understand."  Al, in jest, responds with "who are you now, Confucius?"  (Confucius having been booted from the poker game earlier in the night for bluffing on the first twelve hands he played).  At this point, Ghandi calls in his last favor with God and asks that Al be reincarnated on Earth.  God, being a Man of His word, reluctantly agrees.  After that, the story gets fuzzy.  So it is believed that Al has been reincarnated, but no one can confirm if he's living on in Buzz or will return someday in the distant future as Buzz's successor.

Buzz is nuts but he can coach.  That is what people said about Al.  I certainly didn't mean to imply that Buzz is as good as Al.

Yeah Benny, I think you should probably go ahead and get that jet to NYC.  You've got hoops fever bad....

You're right, my bad. I'm probably a touch overly sensitive on the morning before such a big game.

And if you are chartering a plane, make a quick stop in Nashville.  I will supply some of Lynchburgs finest export on the flight.

Wasn't so much for me... if the price were reasonable, however, it seems like something the AD could organize.  I'm sure that they could find enough people to fill a small jet on a few hours notice.

Any way... all better now.  I promise not to use the scoop as a creative outlet anymore.

LOL - yeah Al used to say "they called me crazy when I was losing, and eccentric when I was winning.  I haven't changed."
