Over the past 4 years I haven't given him much respect.  I think it's time I give him some props.  Although frustrating at times he can hit some big shots. He isn't always the best defender but he makes up for it in effort and can annoy the hell out of some pretty good players.  We probably wouldn't have won today without him, so this weekend I shall dedicate many a beer in his honor.

While you are drinking....

1.  Always talk with his accent and sing at least one Christmas song.
2.  Shimmy after you pound a beer or take a shot.
3.  Buy and wear a #10 Marquette jersey and it can't say Diener on the back.

Don't forget to clap your hands annoyingly in the face of the guy next to you or pound your chest with a snarl.  Gotta love Cooby!

cooby has proven he is as clutch as they come. Thats what i love about his team, any of our starting 5 can come up with the big shot.

I can't help but chuckle every time I see that clip. Haven't seen him do it in a long time, but half expected it yesterday when he hit his big 3. What a great senior year for these guys (Mo and Cooby). They've changed their legacy from being afterthought subs to co-authors (with several other) of one of the best scripts in recent MU hoops history with what the team has done this year. Good stuff.

I took exception to his shot selection (mainly shooting anything other than a lay-up off the dribble), but I thought he was bailed out in the clutch today.  Mo fouled out, they gave him the ball and he was bailed out by a foul call, and had that foul not been called we would have been in some trouble.  He played well in this game, but could have blown it by allowing himself to get out of control with the ball at a crucial period of the game.

I really think that Cooby suffers from people not knowing about his shoulders.  Before this year, his first year was easily his best.  He was definitely a pleasant surprise then after being (if I remember correctly) a recruiting afterthought that year.  (I think Crean was at St. Benedict's trying to get a big guy, and when he couldn't he decided to go with Cooby mostly for his outside shot.)

Anyway, one or both shoulders were hurt before/during his sophomore year, and his performance went down.  The wreck of a year last year came after he had surgery on both shoulders during the off season.  I was somewhat hoping that this year he would be much more effective after being fully healed, but I, like everyone else, did not know what really was in store.....

Hey, and don't forget that this guy can play 34+ minutes with one and sometimes no turnovers.  That's been huge in a few of the close games!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
