I know I'm early on this poll, I should have probably posted it after we get knocked out of the dance but that disappointment could cloud the judgment.  So, let's do it now while we are on a high (beating St. Johns).

My Guess ......

Pos    2009/2010      2010/2011
PG     Acker              Junior
G      Coobie             Blue/Buycks
G      DJO                 DJO
F      Butler              Butler
F      Lazar              Fulce

Bench
       Buycks            Buycks/Blue
       Fulce              Ewill
       Ewill               Outle
       Junior             Mbao
                           Reggie Smith
                           Jamail Jones
                           DJ Newbill
                           Crowder

Next's Year Bench is a world better than this year's bench.  Maybe someone (or two) upside surprises will come from this bench (calling Outle and/or Mbao)

As far as the starters go, the key is Blue.  How good is he?  Can he step in a-la the original DJ (Dom James) and contribute right away or will Buycks start most of the season?

I voted next year's team is marginally better as we will be taller, deeper, and wiser.

Does Marginally better mean 12 or 13 BEAST wins versus 11 this year and the double bye?

Coleman

Marginally better. I know this is premature...but here's my prediction for next year

22-8 (if we play the same number of games as we did this year), (12-6) in regular season.

NCAA Second Round

Will crack the top 25, but probably won't get any higher than 15

Voted this year by a large margin.  The loss of Hayward will really hurt, along with inexperience at the point guard position.  No clue as to the status of our project centers.

This could change if Crowder makes up for some of Hayward's numbers.

Lets enjoy this current run and what they have achieved this year.

Agree.  Too many unknowns, not enough answers for me to feel good about it.  Same thing for this year really, so we could be better.  Nervous about turning the ball over more without Acker and Cubillan but also not rebounding more since Lazar is the only one I trust to do it now.  Also nervous about who will show some assertiveness out there when the offense goes stagnant since Lazar is usually the only one willing to take the shots.  I think Buycks is the leading candidate to fill that role right now, but who knows if he can do it.  As for the depth, it could help a ton, it could be that whole "idiot offering the trade in Fantasy Football" symptom: you can have two or three guys take Lazar's minutes and two or three guys take Acker's minutes, but quanitity isn't always better than quality (i.e. how we have 12 Big East wins against 12 teams with more depth).

If Chis has a good summer and comes off his injury well. Any chance he starts over Joe? I know Joe is an awesome guy and will be a senior, but it would be awesome to see MU start a 6'10" man for the first time in years. Thoughts?
