The MU Band

I used to be for the MU Band until I realized how much they interrupt the flow of the game. This is my fourth time sitting behind them in the student section this year and I gave them the benefit of the doubt beforehand but now I know that we need to get rid of the band. They just ruin the flow with their songs that they try and play to bring the crowd into it. Definately a detraction for the student section.

I agree with you bringbackwarriors. The band just stands there until it is their time to play at a timeout instead of jumping up and down like us who stand behind them. They need to be moved somewhere else.

I realize this is a gross generalization but just by looking at the band and knowing some of the band members when I was in school, I am going to guess not many of them played the game and probably don't have much of an idea what is going on half the time.  Sorry if there are members/former members who take offense, it's just my 2 cents...

Are you kidding me people??  I was in the band today and I am really insulted by this thread.  i was jumping up and down and going crazy the whole game, and I wasn't the only one.  You're probably right that a lot of us the band didn't play high school basketball, but I think we understand the game pretty damn well.  This is the second time I've had to defend the band on this site and I'm frankly getting pretty pissed about it.

I agree.  I don't really see a reason to complain about the band...after a loss everyone likes to criticize random aspects during the game.

Yes you are right that there were maybe two people in the band cheering during the game.  But frankly I feel like those seats are being wasted
for a group of people who don't cheer at all (minus a few people). I think that they should either be moved back behind or some where else because those are great seats that some crazy fans could use that would get the cheering crowd closer to the floor.

Doubt that considering I have made every game and I know that some of the members have not.  Call me out once you get the real facts.
