This from the Pioneer Press:

Ineligible Gophers junior basketball forward Trevor Mbawke, who is awaiting a trial in Miami on a charge of felony assault, on his Facebook page Wednesday night: "wishes they would just not have let me enroll in the first place this is some bs. Ive been treatin like ive been guilty ever since I came to this damn school"

Thank God he's gone.

Jay Bee

At least he hasn't made multiple whiny YouTube videos

PS - Gophers killed Tan and II, II tonight and beat the piss out of Wisconsin two nights ago.  Still a prayer to make the tourney.

Yeah, that's a bummer.

Probably shouldn't remind him that if he had stayed at Marquette, he wouldn't have been in Miami to get into any trouble.

I can only imagine the attorney fees he's facing.  Since we don't know what the truth is in the situation we can only hope he receives the justice he deserves.  Judge not.

I hope, too, he gets the justice he deserves. I'm just glad he's not at MU anymore. Judging from his writing, that Minnesota education is serving him well.

I don't know what classes Trevor is taking, but I have taken many courses from UM-Twin Cities engineering program.  They are as tough as they come.

ok.

I doubt very much whether Trevor is in the engineering program at UM. Judging by the school's history with its student-athletes, I doubt whether he is in any program.

Removing his abandoning MU .. if he is innocent .. I'd be really pissed too.  For innocent until proven guilty, he's certainly being punished right now.

I guess based on his character a lot of us - I included - jumped the gun on him and the situation.

Anyone know why it's taking so long to sort this mess out? Court logjam to blame?

The answer is him.  His attorney has pushed the court date back time and time again... many of the witnesses for the defense are ballplayers, currently occupied.  There has been little to no doubt that if a trial occurs, it won't be until the spring of 2010.. whether or not it even happens then is the question now.
