Wade for President

Amongst all the preseason reviews and expectations, leading the nation in 3 pt fg % is not one of the stats anybody saw coming.  After yesterdays game, MU officially became the nation's leader @ 43.4% from downtown.

Through all the injuries, heartbreaking losses, Maymon talk...this is news that is actually impossible to put your hands around.  When was the last time MU led the nation in any category (paging Mr. Sugar)?!?!?  I don't think there's a person on this board that would've ever made that prediction.

There's a lot of season left, but this area of our game needs to be recognized.  Congrats to Buzz and the squad...keep it up boys!

Scotty C would have been too athletic for this team.

I think this is why we are exceeding expectations.  We are more effective from outside this year than last, though I didn't realize we were anywhere close to being the best in the nation.  Pretty cool.  I'd be curious what Mr Sugar has to say about this year vs last from outside.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Jr is supposed to be good at penetration and if no shot is available, kicking the ball out.  Likely to someone spotting up for a three.  So his presence will help our overall three performance.  I think a good part of the reason we are hitting well from outside is that we've got multiple guys who are capable of penetrating and dishing (dribble drive).  DJO for instance.  We had this last year too but this year we have superior outside ability.

Thanks for refreshing my memory.  I get the feeling we will be seeing Junior this year!

There were many, myself included, that felt like MU needed to recruit a "lights-out" shooter.  I'll be interested to see if this high percentage continues.  I do appreciate their shot selection, which I think has the most to do with it.  I loved McNeal, but that was always a sore spot with me.

LOL

No, but he certainly wouldn't have hurt the percentage.  He's shooting 50% for the year and is ranked 13th in the nation, which would put him third on MU.

He wouldn't have helped it from the bench either.

True, instead he's helping Iowa State's bench at 22 minutes per clip.  Sure it worked out well for everyone.  Amazing for a Division III player.
