understood, GOMU1104, but if a 6-7 athletic player can't be trusted to provide a few minutes of something while the team around him is falling apart, something is wrong.

Saying "something is wrong" proves you dont know what you are talking about. It is 7 games into his MU career, and isnt yet ready to contribute. That is it.

Up by 11 at half, thanks to DJO's way out NBA 3 at end, but NC State is not good.  We could be way up.  Keep it going MU.

Jinx!

So Cubillan and Buycks are ready to contribute, and a Top 100 player isn't? OK, I'll take your word for it.

Buzz can't make any adjustments because there's nothing to adjust.

+1 MU is a one trick pony team. Once the opposing teams make adjustments we are dead in the water. Not a very good basketball team. I'm still sticking with 14 wins this season.

then leave

That won't be happening.  I'd rather continue to point out how stupid people on this board are, and how everyone just repeats what everyone else says.

Do we really need 3-5 threads bashing the team?  Does it serve any purpose?  Why not create one thread, and intelligently discuss things?  Rather we get threads like, "Get a Clue Buzz".

Everyone knows we are short handed, and that we need a 'big'.

we know this because EVERYONE seems to post it at least once a week and then act like it is a new original thought that hasn't been beaten to death.

OK, I don't understand, 1104. And you do.

if your looking for a tea party and stimulating conversation then perhaps you should go somewhere other than an internet forum

You're right, I guess I just expected more.

My mistake.

wheresthecake?

Can't we give NC State a little credit as well?  I mean, that was a pretty sick dunk they threw down on the alley-oop, they shot the lights out in the second half knocking down open jumpers like they were supposed to, and they shut down Lazar in the second half as well with nobody else on MU stepping up to take over the scoring.  Until we can find someone else to be assertive on offense for more than 2 consecutive possessions we will struggle against quality opponents.

Yes. I understand that Williams isn't ready yet. I realize that, just because he is "Top 100" doesn't automatically mean is ready to play.  I also realize that, if the coaches thought he could provide ANYTHING of value, he would be playing.

finally.

I agree.  We missed shots, and they made shots.  Our defense wasn't what it normally is, and we turned the ball over a lot.

We shot less than 40% and they shot over 50%.  In all, we ended up losing by 4... Were there a lot of mistakes?  Yes.  Did NCST shoot the lights out the second half?  yes.

nyg

Just looked at game stats.  DJO only took 6 shots the entire game and only one in the second half.  Lowest total number of shots taken by any MU player.  Strange especially after his first half performance.

Are you discounting the possibility that Buzz may be a bit intransigent? No successful major college program can operate with a 7 man rotation. That's 2 games straight that we self-destructed in the 2nd half and didn't have an answer for the opposition.

We were in the bonus 11 minutes into the 2nd half and only had 1 trip to the line the next 8 minutes. Buzz said EWill had a good week of practice but still refused to play him. What we're seeing is a team that has thus far be unable to adjust to good teams. Let's hope we correct our mistakes and get more balance from the rest of the team. Right now Lazar and to a lesser degree Butlre are our only options and teams are picking Hayward's dribble much too often.
