Does SNY mirror the Big East Network? Would getting the sports pack for DirectTv be a valuable thing?
Proud lurker for over a decade...

I had direcTV last year and SNY carried pretty much every mu game.  I never ordered a sports package though so I don't even know why I had the channel, but it was nice nonetheless.

Yes and Yes.

Between Full Court, SNY, and the fortuitous links <cough cough> appearing once in a while on a certain <cough cough> message board, I was able to watch almost every game.  Looks like this season won't be much different.

Yes, you'll be covered for most games if you get Sports Pack

PE8983

If you have DirecTV with the sports pack, is it at all advantageous to get the Full Court package in regards to watching MU games?

MarkMiller

Is there a schedule of games for the upcoming season that you can get with the SportsPack?

muarmy81

If you have directv get the sports pack and pass on ESPN FC.  With the sports pack you'll get nearly every game via SNY, MASN, MSG, and ESPNU...all for about $13/month.  You can cancel it at any time so if you're like me you add it in november and cancel it in MAR. (13*5=$65). What does ESPN FC cost?  About $135?

ESPN360.com has almost every game that was not on national tv.

The Big East Conference should have a list of games on the Big East Network which will be in Sports Pack.

Full court likely will only carry 2 or maybe 3 games that the Big East Network doesn't.  The video quality on SNY will also be better.

Is ESPNU still included in SportsPack? I don't see it listed on the DirecTV Website.

It's now part of Choice package so most people get it.....it's a good thing since it's part of a base package now.

Unfortunately, at first glance, it appears that rather than seeing multiple live broadcasts (as was the case last year) more of the games will be tape delayed.  I would have to guess this is due to our diminished expectations and hopefully it will apply only to some of these non-conference tilts against the weaker competition on our schedule.
