Sure it's not a spike contest?

I met Bond a couple months ago.  I was walking a couple blocks from my house and saw a guy wearing a gold MU shirt doing yard work, so I said my customary "Go Marquette" to him.

He immediately dropped what he was doing, and I ended up chatting with him and his wife for 20 minutes, welcoming them to the neighborhood.

this is a cool idea and good pub for himself and the volleyball team. However, maybe he should focus on the volleyball team. They are not that good and need some fresh players next season. I am not bashing the guy, I think he's actually a really nice guy, but maybe Bond should stick to volleyball and joe will stick to basketball.

Fail.

Maybe this publicity could help with the problems you mention?

Haha so Bond should never say a word unless it has to do with the MU volleyball team?

You do realize that he is in his first year as the head coach of a team who roughly equates to what DePaul men's basketball team is in the Big East, right?  They're having a lot more success than they have in the past.  My guess is that in a few years he'll have the program challenging for Big East titles.  He was a 3 (?) time ACC coach of the year at Georgia Tech.  Let him get his players in.

At first when I was a student I didn't think twice about going to women's volleyball games. I eventually got to one and loved it. Getting more people to come to a game, even if it is having Fulce dominate Bond in a dunk contest, would do wonders for attendance, promotion, and people coming back again in the future.

Tiny spandex shorts helps too.

He is focussing on the volleyball team.  That is why they are improving in his first year.  They also had a sell-out crowd as a result of Marquette Madness, and Schmansky loved it, and went off the floor shouting support for the basketball team into his mic.  He'd love nothing more than to have 4000 basketball fans show up to support his team at every home game.  Sounds to me like the way to build a program.
