These guys play tonight @ LA. Hopefully Wes can secure a spot and Jerel can show his true self. Go Marquette.

5YearsatMU

Per ESPN box score, Wes got the start. . . Jerel has yet to enter the game at half time.

Jerel doesn't get in.  Wes scores 5 points on 1-3 shooting and 3-3 free throws in 28 minutes.  Interestingly enough, his +/- is +10 in the loss, while nobody else on the team is better than +1.  Doesn't mean much, but definitely notable that he's getting all these minutes.

yeah does anyone else think that jerel doesn't make the roster come regular season? he's not getting any playing time and he hasn't shown anything spectacular. I would really like to see him on an NBA roster, but it really doesn't seem likely.

Speak your mind.

McNeal didn't manage his career properly-----should have insisted as a condition to attend MU that
he play quite a bit of PG.

He hasn't played in two straight games and hardly anything previously.  He is good as gone.  Hopefully he can find a spot in a European league, but who knows.  He had a great college career and can always look back on that.

McNeal is not a point guard. Matthews has more  point guard skills than McNeal.  The last two years on MU on two on one frast breaks McNeal would not even give up the ball. He got several charges called on him, because he would not pass the ball off. There is no way he has the mentality to play point.

Regardless of skills, McNeal is playing (or not playing) on a Clippers team that already has 15 guaranteed contracts to other players. That is the most you can have in the NBA. Meaning, the Clips would have to cut a player to sign McNeal. Not gonna happen.

Wesley on the other hand is starting on a Jazz team (in the preseason) that only has 12 guaranteed contracts. Wesley will be suiting up in a Jazz uniform on Wed. Oct 28. You'll be able to see him on ESPN.

Just my thoughts.

Absolutely no way is McNeal a point guard. He could have pulled it off adequately in college, I suppose, but no way is he an NBA point guard.

We all love McNeal, I'm sure. He was a tremendous college player. But he is way too turnover prone to be a PG at the next level, and his skill set isn't enough to land on a roster at another position. I'm sure he'll play overseas and make very good money while doing it, so I don't think we need to feel sorry for him.

Sure hope Wes makes a roster. I always though, mostly due to his size and versatility, that he was the best NBA prospect of the three. Hope he can make it.

Nice pic...but I feel only two of them will stick in the L for the start of the season.

Is that supposed to be in teal?

Jerel may end up going the Charlie Bell route.    I can see him going to Europe, learning to play the point adequately, and catching on a couple of years down the road.
