Only 3 national games. that certainly does not excite recruits.

mu_hilltopper

Couple things .. first, group discussion .. of the top 20 average things a recruit considers .. where does "# of national games in a given year" place?

I understand that "national presence" has an impact, but MU has had plenty of exposure over the past 5-8 years.  Does one down TV year have a material impact on recruiting?

Second .. if you're headed for a down year, do you really want to be on national TV a lot, getting your ass kicked in front of recruits?

We need TC back lobbying for TV games...

Like in 2005-2006 when he got us 1 ESPN and 2 ESPNU's

Sorry 79, not to threadjack but SJS made this assertion earlier in the week, just asinine.

Projected good teams get on, projected bad teams don't.

That being said we're on ESPN2 at least 5 times.  I consider that National TV.  Plus the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the Old Spice on are ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU so that's a total of 7.  The Pitt game could be upgraded to ESPN from ESPN2, also.

Crean's cup runneth over with TV ass-kickings including crapping his pants bigtime on college basketball's biggest stage vs. Kansas. The stench still gags me.

I'd definately don't want this season to have many nationally televised games if were going to be getting our salad tossed!

The Lens

Not to belabor the point but last season our national TV number was 12, which includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and CBS.  This season it's 7.

I guess graduating 80% of your starters = 42% reduction in national exposure.

Of course the week prior against the #1 team in the country, we blew them out on national tv...as well as 2 days prior to that when we beat the #6 team in the country.

I'm sure us losing had nothing to do with us shooting absolutely HORRIFIC % in that game.  I blame Crean for not hitting those shots.   ::)

I'm not sure; are you pointing out facts, complaining, or trying to diffuse tension by saying it's not that bad?

Is there at TWC contract this year that is likely to be picked up by ESPN Full Court?
