One Month from Today (9/16) . . .

Is Marquette Madness! Can't wait to see this young but incredibly talented group take the floor for the first time. There are many questions, but much, much upside. The future looks very bright -- blue skies and golden sunsets.

I'm excited but going to take it in stride.

Honestly fellas we may be bad this year....I'm talking real bad.

Buzz will earn his money this year for sure with all the youth on this team.

acker will sit next to frozena...please people the acker starting is really dumb.  junior, DJO, and Buycks are twice as good as Acker.

i'll say that acker may start but will get far from the majority of the minutes. I think buzz might have a pretty even rotation to start the year and give more minutes to those who are more deserving as the year move on.  Also see DJO playing the 2 guard role more often than not.

WTF are you guys talking about???  Acker barely played when James was hurt last year, buzz obviously doesn't think he can play.  There is NO way a guy that wasn't even on the team a month ago starts or even plays meaningful minutes.

Acker's minutes by game, starting with UConn:
33
33
29
40 (OT)
27
30
24
27 (James played 17)

Even before James got injured, Acker was the 7th guy behind Butler.
...unless I'm missing the sarcasm.

The "guy that wasn't even on the team a month ago" is also the "guy currently on the roster who has played some of the most minutes as a Golden Eagle out of anyone on the team".

This is the exact reason I see him starting the beginning of the year.  I still think that because we have other viable point guard options, we need to get those guys quality minutes early in the season so they are ready for BE play.  If Mo, Cadougan, and Buycks are all getting at least 10 to15 minutes a game to start the season, Buzz can see who he feels most comfortable starting when the conference games roll around.  I would venture to say that by the beginning of December, either Buycks or Cadougan will be getting over half the floor time, the other getting slightly less, and Acker designated to a predominantly bench role.
