Yes - the unheralded Amal ended up having a pretty good career, didn't he?   ;D

I didn' read the article, but I assume that it is about how William Gates finished his BBall career at MU, decided to learn about electronics, and stole a great idea from his friends to create "Windows".

Yeah... he's in the Philippines right now playing for the Magnolia Beverage Masters.  Too bad I never got to see him play at Marquette.  I might be able to watch him in the Philippines though!  :)

As an indication of the influence the movie had, on the night that the the Oscar awards for the best movies were announced, Tom Brokaw on the Nightly News noted that "Hoops Dreams" was not nominated for the best Documentary, suggesting that it was somehow "blackballed."
