I think the refs we get is even more important than the team we will be playing. It seems to me that the Big East refs allow a lot of contact on drives. There were several times in the last few games that McNeal and Matthews could not get a break from the refs on their drives. If we get a ref team that calls a lot of fouls our drives to the basket will be almost impossible to stop. Remember prior to Big East play Matthews was getting to the line at a greater rate. In the past under Crean MU was at a disadvantage with the refs in the tournament. That was because MU under Crean was playing defense with their hands. Buzz has worked hard to teach this team not to foul. I think different refs in the NCAA tournament will be an advantage to MU.

I'm hopeful that it'll be helping us this year. A more physical team like Pitt will probably exit earlier than they'd like due to the refs letting less go.
