Marquette Opens BIG EAST Championship Play Wednesday Afternoon
         

The Marquette University men's basketball team opens postseason play Wednesday afternoon at the 2009 BIG EAST Conference Championship at 1 p.m. CT in Madison Square Garden. The Golden Eagles have earned the No. 5 seed in the 16-team event and will play the winner of Tuesday afternoon's matchup between No. 12 seed Georgetown and No. 13 seed St. John's. The winner of Wednesday's contest advances to face No. 4 seed Villanova at 1 p.m. CT Thursday afternoon.

G-town would be tough to beat 3 times in a season, though they really could not defend us at all in either game.
