Why the hell didn't buzz call a timeout after they started chipping away our 8 point lead? Cuz he was banking on the 'media' timeout? I thought that was downright stupid, on the road, and cost us the game.

Thoughts???
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

It didn't cost us the game. We had no chance. Pitt is too big, too strong and too good. Hard to believe those guys are in college. But yes, call a timeout! Do something to try and slow the momentum. Buzz has been terrible at handling timeouts all season. Hopefully he'll learn from this.

He actually called 2 TOs during the run. Did nothing to stem the tide.

the run they went on after we got up 8 or 9?

We were up by 9, then Pitt scored 9 straight and Buzz didn't call a TO. A TV break finally stopped the run...at least for a few minutes. It didn't matter though...it was no contest.

I suppose not...

We were up 57-48 at 16:02
Three missed 3s later, it's tied at 57 at the under-16 TV timeout (13:31)
By the next TV timeout (11:56) it's 60-60
At 8:53, we're down 69-63 and Buzz calls timeout.
Over the next 4 minutes, Pitt outscores us 11-2, and at 4:34 we're down 80-65. Buzz calls another TO.

I guess looking at the play-by-play, you could argue that Buzz should have called the second TO a little earlier, but during that time, we went ice cold and Pitt couldn't miss. I don't think a TO would stop Fields from making a step-back 18footer.

I don't have a problem with the way Buzz used TOs tonight, but it's pretty clear that I'm in the minority.

I think Buzz should have called time out when Pitt scored 4 in a row to cut MU's lead from 9 to 5. I would have reminded the players to not rush 3's like McNeal did twice in a row and take their time on offense. Maybe that break before the TV time out would have helped, especially in the rest department. If you watched the UConn game, Calhouln effectively short-circuited momentum for MU by calling time outs after just 4-6 point runs for MU.
