Comment from halfway down the page...

"Typical for MQ. They have the most classless players and coaches ever and have for the past 10 years or so.  Case in point, Crean's predecesor flicking us off as he walked off court."

Raferty and Lundquist mentioned Lazar jarring with the crowd on the broadcast.

He says THIS is classless?

Give it, if they deserve it.

And Louisville deserved it that day.

Stay Classy, Deane. :)

the guy who was posting that seemed very classy.  Hell I would yell at that guy if I were Lazar.

Louisville fans always seem to find something to complain about Marquette over. I've watched the replay of Deane many, many times - he does not flip off the crowd, he's excited as all get out and pumps his fist, but he never gave the finger. An assistant coach yells at a fan after the fan leans over to insult them as they walked to the locker room. Totally blown out of proportion. They are just pissed they lost that game.

Since they won this one, the Lazar thing hopefully won't get blown out of proportion.

1998- "Deane flipped us off"
2002- "Team chanted NIT"
2003- "Crean said Myles was faking"
2009- "Hayward dropped an f-bomb"

Next year it'll be "Maymon slept with my wife"

Not to propagate a rumor.  But at one point Lazer did clearly turn towards the crowd (opposite the benches) and do a little barking.  No idea what was said though - I could only tell it was animated.

We can also equal their alleged "greatest hits":

2001:  Gaines flipping the bird to the MU student section on senior night
2004:  Pitino forging quotes and leaving them in the Marquette locker room
2005:  Lousville running a full court press with a 45 point lead
2007:  Jerry Smith flashing his Louisville jersey at the MU bench after his buzzer beater

So all those nice things you were saying about DJ this week...you really didn't mean that, right?  ::)

General,

The only one on your list I remember taking about at all is Pitino's made up quotes, the rest were part of the game that I don't think anyone cared about an hour later.

I was at the Reece Gaines Senior Night incident.  It was a great, hard fought game and a tough one to lose.  I couldn't believe Gaines was that disrespectful.  It was classless.
