Tom Crean's Tanning Bed

http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/02/former-bulls-star-norm-van-lier-dead-at-67.html

Growing up in Chicago, definitely one of my favorite Chicago media guys.  Did sports talk radio, DJed on the FM side, and was all over the pre and post-game shows for the Bulls.

RIP.

Johnny "Red" Kerr also passed away today.

Two Bulls sportscasters on the same day.

I feel for the Chicago fans.

The Bulls just honored Red Kerr a week or two ago.

Tom Crean's Tanning Bed

It's just been an awful 24 hours or so for me as a Marquette and Bulls fan.  First DJ goes down for the year.  And now the Bulls lose two of their all-time greats.

The basketball gods aren't really liking me these days I guess  :'(

My first job after graduating from MU was working in the Bulls front office. First day on the job, I was settling in at my cubicle, and notice a towering shadow standing a few feet from my desk. I look up and it's Red Kerr, welcoming me to the organization.

Very nice man, great ambassador for the Bulls. Sad day for Chicago basketball fans, hard to believe both of them passed within 24 hours of one another.

GGGG

I was a little bit too young to remember seeing Van Lier play, but the one thing I loved when he did interviews was that he made it clear that he had no room for basketball stupidity.
