Tonight couldn't have been plotted this well on a movie set for Marquette.  Syracuse, Pitt, and Georgetown all lose to further bolster MU's hopes for a top four seed come tourney time.  There's still much basketball to be played, but the events that unfolded tonight could prove huge for the Eagles later in the season.  It's exceptionally difficult to win on the road in conference play, and I don't care if MU beat the Washington Generals three times, those three victories away from home are looking sweeter by the day.  It's time to start recognizing this team's victories as terrific accomplishments instead of blowing them off as mere wins against inferior opponents.

Really didn't like seeing G'town lose.  Cincy has nothing to play for...but G'town could fall on the bubble.  Wanted to keep the 8-9 teams strong, without any big fall offs.

How does Cincy have nothing to play for?  They are tied with G-Town.  Maybe the Bearcats finish .500 in the league.  Doubtful, but you never know.  I am cheering for any scenario that helps MU's cause, and tonight's results undoubtedly do that.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

This was a great for MU as their chances of finishing in the top 4 was helped a lot.

This night is only so good as how much we take advantage of it come Saturday.  Just keep ROLLING!

I don't see Louisville losing a game anytime soon with their upcoming schedule, yet UCONN has in the past been susceptible to playing to their opponents level. Which is a nice difference in this years MU team, is that in the past (last several seasons) they would play down to their opponents level.

Look at any point in the season a team can slip up, and last night a lot of them did just that. The one thing that I have stressed all season is that we are better than the past because of our seniors. Not many team in the country have the senior laden team that we do. I like our chances come post season, but we have to take one at a time. Just watched the game winning shot from last years Stanford game, and I don't want that happening again. The seniors have taken lessons from previous years and are using them this season.

Of course Cincy has something to play for...what I meant/should've said was that the perception of the Big East, is upheld as an incredible conference, with teams like G'Town/ND winning games.

I don't want to come to March with teams like G'Town and ND being discussed as bubble teams.  I believe that it hurts the image of the conference.

Question...has anybody ever made the big dance with a losing conference record?  I don't believe so.

That seems to imply that you are more interested in how many Big East get into the tournament than you are in seeing MU near or at the top of the Big East and get a lighter load in the BEast tourney and higher seed in the Tournament. Until MU is "fixed" in their place, I'll hope for the teams with worse records always beat teams with better records, unless maybe there is a tie-breaker in there that would help MU.

I like to see the Big East do well and be highly represented, but not before I want MU to do well.

The best time to kick an opponent is when he is down.  Georgetown is down....MU needs to kick him hard....just like MU did with ND.

@ Villanova will be a VERY hard game.....best MU takes care of business on saturday and makes that game less important (not that any game is unimportant....just as MU wins more, the pressure is reduced on upping the win total prior to the final five games.)
When we stop talking, really bad stuff happens.
