7-0...very special
« on: January 26, 2009, 08:03:53 PM »
there is something about this team and remaining calm, stepping up when needed, and being clutch. i, for one, am impressed.
they took the best providence had to offer, took a good punch from ND and harangody, and persevered.
Marquette has an exceptional amount of weapons, esp with the addition of matthews as an all BE player this year, and when a team has that many weapons it is difficult to stop

We are lucky, very lucky, to get DJ, Jerel, and Wes all as seniors to still be here. Each has his certain flaw, but honestly, at moments all 3 of those cats can be the best player on any college basketball court, and a potential NBA'er. You add Lazar to that, also an all BE talent, and this team can be as special as i thought they could

Shout out to Burke and Mo for a solid performance- we needed it

Marquette still has not played anybody in the Big East with a winning record, except for Providence. Marquette is still over rated. The better team lost tonight. After all its Harangody, its Harangody, its Harangody, its Harangody!

Not!

this is an entirely different debate, and i know that some are doubting ND's tourney status, but a road win at both bubble providence and tourney bound ND is spectacular.

OK i know ND has struggled, but this was a top 4 team in conference last year and has basically the same team (right? i might be wrong but cant think of anyone big gone in my tipsy state) That just shows how sick this conference is. If ND is not in the tourney, i would be shocked. Providence will be the borderline 9th team in my opinion, needing some big wins and nice run in conf tourney

sometimes its hard to step outside the box and state you are currently locked into, but how many would have guessed 7-0 in conference with a win at ND when the season started? Not me, and my kool-aid was pouring over before the season started.

now i feel more level headed than before the season, surprisingly. I feel like we can beat anyone ive seen in the BE, but i feel like we can still lose 5 or 6 games in conf with how tough it is. Reguardless, I do not get nervous about this team going into ANY game, except for maybe a team with 2 exceptional bigs (Pitt w blair and young but i feel that cause we have played them well before we can again) and that is unique to this season
