“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

QuoteThat was when Williams, then known as Brent Williams, first introduced himself to Lewis Orr and asked Navarro's head coach if he could sit up in the bleachers, take notes and observe the players in preseason practice.

"The guy just buzzed and buzzed," said the 71-year-old Orr, who was recently hired by Williams to be a consultant with the Marquette program. "He's always on the move and full of energy."

Really?  That's the first time I heard that - or else I wasn't paying attention closely enough if it was reported.

Nonetheless - Williams is extremely faithful to the guys that gave him a chance.  Good to see that loyalty, but I hope he isn't faithful to a fault.  :-\  How many people do we need on staff?

Buzz announced Orr being involved with the program during media day. If you pay attention, you can see Coach Orr sitting next to Homer and Mac, right next to Buzz at home games. Not sure if he goes on the road?

Yup - just double checked - Rosiak's blog had it on media day.  Guess I should use our search feature more.  I'm just surprised in wasn't in the wiki (where I checked before I posted)!

If Buzz ever takes the team to the Sweet-16 or the Elite-8 we'll hear this story over and over.

This particular version is well written and thorough, I'll give the author that much.  This may be one of the last times I hear that story without becoming impatient with the announcer/author to get on with praising Buzz and/or the team for their more current accomplishments.

For all of you current students or recent grads who are wondering "how am I going to catch a break in this economy", read this article. Then read it again. Then sit down and figure out how you can take Buzz's experiences and translate it into your own success. In many way I can relate to Buzz. Nothing worthwhile is easy. But if you work and work and work and work, and then work some more, you may not get everything you want but you'll be a hell of a lot closer than those guys that just sit around waiting for that "big break" to magically fall into your lap.

+10000000000...Buzz is ultimate proof that hard work and tireless dedication will eventually pay off. It's a very inspirational story.
