The poll question is how many of the current Marquette Golden Eagles do you think will appear on an NBA ROSTER in the future?

It is my opinion that Wes Mathews and Jerel McNeal will be drafted by an NBA team and that Dominic James and Lazar Hayward have a chance and will at least at some point be on a summer league team if not an NBA roster.

No one gets drafted, but Matthews has the best chance to make a roster and eventually play in the Association.

McNeal, Wes, and Lazar get drafted.

DJ gets in later via free agency.

But Wes remains in the L the longest of the four.

If you think none you are mistaken.  While they may not get loads of PT if any at all, at least one of them will find a bench spot somewhere.

If that's your opinion so be it, we will find out in October. Actually would like to see one of them, but I stay with no one makes an NBA roster.

McNeal, Matthews, James, and Hayward all have a shot.  However, Otule and McMorrow also have a shot simply based on their size.  If they can develop their skills over the next couple of years then the sky's the limit.  I don't see anyone else on this team who can play in the association.

I say McNeal, Matthews, James and Hayward from what I have seen this year.

Agreed. Hell, Aaron Gray actually sees some PT for the Bulls.

Tell me again how Hayward will even sniff the NBA?  He's a good college player, but he's a 6'5 PF?  There is no way he can play the 3 in the NBA, not nearly long or athletic enough and he can't really create his own shot.

No shot for Hayward.  No size, no hops, moderate athletic ability and he is a set shooter.  Not many of those in the NBA.  Like him as a college player though.

This is an impossible question because the answer is equally like for any number between 0 and 3.  Any or all three of our senior guards could sneak on the end of somebody's bench in the NBA, if they are picked by the right team.  None of them will last 3 or 4 years, though.

If that's the case, this will be the greatest senior class in MU history, especially since there are only two rounds in the draft now.

Is there a "none"?

You are right. I should have included a "0" (more likely than a "5" option), but I like to think positively. That said, I edited the poll and included a "zero" option.

That could be a reach...2 guys from the class drafted? I would think the '78 class would probably rank higher or at least the same...Lee, Whitehead, Payne, Rosenberger, Boylan all drafted (larger draft back then obviously).

Other than that, I might agree though...this class could rank right up there. Dom, McNeal, and Wes will rank well among all-time leading scorers, as well as assists, and steals.  The only thing that seems to be missing is post-season success. Still time though!

I don't see Lazar in the NBA...pretty sure I do see the other 3 there at some point however.

The big difference is that there are only 2 rounds in today's draft as opposed to the 10 rounds they had in 1978. Only Lee and Whitehead were drafted in the 1st 2 rounds of that draft class.

Is "The Bank" the name of a bar? Otherwise, I don't think a 6'3" tweener is going anywhere near the NBA Lottery.

That said, I look forward to McNeal getting drafted in the 2nd round or maybe sneaking into the late first if he blows up in the tournaments and does well in his workouts.

Wilson may very well come to MU, who knows with him he seems to be very on-again, off-again with Marquette.

As for McNeal, there is NO WAY he will be drafted in the lottery, regardless of how much he blows up; unless he grows another 3 inches between now and the draft.
