Maybe I'm just euphoric after a nice win, but that was the best officiated game I've seen in a long time.  I watched on TV and every call where there were complaints were vindicated in replay.  They were consistent on the block/charge (basically it was always a charge) and they let the kids play without letting the game get too physical or out of hand.

for the most part I agree however two of the charge cals were terrible.  The first aginst wisconsin against the big not leuer i dont think where he drove baseline.  Dj did not establish position until he was gliding thru the air.  also on one of the charges against Hayward it was a terrible call. it seemed they just called everything a charge.  dj nneds to be smarter on that 3 v 1 where hayward did have a legit charge.  get the ball middle sooner or take it all the way.   basically krabbenhaft never had to move

I was alright with the refs as well. 

The only problem I had was the possible goal tending call.  Is that able to be reviewed or not?  Or at least talked over by the refs?

EDIT:  Upon review I guess I have no problem with the refs.  They made the right call by not calling goal tending.

I thought is was pretty fair, but the last play of the first half was AWFUL, should have been a charge, and they missed the goal tend.  The one charge on Lazar was real borderline, but a coin-flip, so it didn't make me as angry.  There was also a real nickel-dimer on Hazel on a moving screen, too, but that's hair splitting.

I'm watching the replay. First charge on Zar was AWFUL. Bad, bad call. Second one was legit. Landry got the ball on the way up, before it hit the glass. All told a pretty decent job by the zebras, although you could see Ted Hilary's ego out in full force.

The NCAA needs to adopt the dashed semi circle.  It adds to consistency in charge/block calls
--and at least takes out some subjectivity from crew to crew.

Does anyone know the official intentional foul rule?  Fouling a guy, from behind running for a wide open lay-up/ dunk is an intentional foul right?

Obviously it's a very brief (and certainly not valid) comparison, but we seem to getter better calls with Buzz than with TC.  I always think coaches play a big role in the officiating of the game, and this was the first time I remember a MU team getting calls against Bo.  Even at home.  Not sure if it's Buzz, the style they play or both, but I've been satisfied with the calls MU is getting this year, especially considering Buzz is an unknown and unproven coach.

I thought it was a pretty well officialed game.   Except for that second charge on Hayward.   Leuer was diving back before contact was ever made.   Wasn't straight up on impact.

I despise the no-charge zone semi-circle. It's just one more rule that the NBA has instituted that makes it impossible to play defense.

I have to disagree with you there.  A defender shouldn't be able to stand under the basket and take a charge.  Either try to challenge the shot or get out of the way.

I also hate it when a players runs into position just to take the charge. Everyone does it, but I think it's cheap.

I was watching the game with my UW grad brother-in-law up in GB.  I only complained out loud once about the officiating, but after the replay I remember saying, "I hate when the refs are right", because they had it right.

My brother-in-law only complained about McNeal's 3-pointer near the end.  He was sure his foot was on line.  Surprisingly, from my angle in the living room, his foot looked behind the line.

That type of foul is banned in the NBA (1 shot and the ball, I believe) However, in college any play "attempting to go after the ball" is not an intentional foul.  I didn't like the play since it costs us a bucket, but an intentional would have required him to essentially just grab on to the jersey rather than reaching in and making contact.

I also hate it when defending players hack on breakaway layups, but they aren't about to layoff on that cheap shot either . . .  personally I think you (as a defender) put your body more at risk by taking a charge than just going for a block/reaching foul, but what can you do....
