Monarch added to staff

MU coach Buzz Williams on Wednesday announced the hiring of Scott Monarch as the program's director of basketball operations.

"He is a tireless worker, no matter the day or the project, and is willing to do whatever it takes for our program to have success; on and off the floor," Williams said in a statement.  "I am grateful he has joined our staff. His character is another superb example that our players will be able to see on a daily basis, and that is the most important thing to me." 

Monarch comes to MU from Tyler Junior College, where he was spent last season an assistant. He worked with a pair of incoming MU recruits while there, forward Joe Fulce and guard Jimmy Butler.

Prior to that, Monarch served as an assistant and recruiting coordinator to Williams at the University of New Orleans.

I think Buzz got two commitments and signed two staff members between the first mention of Monarch and the announcement of his hiring!
