While I for one think that getting a solid guard in the 2009 class is big I do think that maybe holding the spot open for a year may not be the biggest thing in the world if we can give this guy playing time. Here is the early news around from web on who many believe to be the best prospect from Wisconsin in 2010 (Anderson who?). PS many websites have Marquette as his number one.

Name:  Flavien Davis
Class:  2010
Position:  Shooting Guard
Height:  6′5
Weight:  190 lbs
School:  Milwaukee (WI) Lutheran
AAU Team:   Wisconsin Scholars
Schools: Marquette, Baylor, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, UCLA, Wisconsin
Scholarship Offer: Yes
Commitment:  None

#22 Overall (ESPN)
#33 Overall (Hoopmasters)
#39 Overall (CSTV)
#54 Overall (HoopScoop)
#67 Overall (HoopsReport)

Scout.com has him as a four star prospect

ESPN.com ranks Flavien as a an 88 overall, the 6th SG in the country while also ranking him 22nd in the top 60 of his class.

Flavien Davis is a physical wing who is starting to play all three perimeter positions. Because of his size and strength, Davis had played inside a lot when he was younger and is really starting to develop as a player as his game expands. He is a big time athlete and can really finish in the paint. Davis is explosive and can create his own shot against anyone in his class. He still needs to become a better 3-point shooter and needs to be more consistent on the perimeter. Like most players his age, he gets down on himself too easily and sometimes gets frustrated and forces things on the court. With his size, strength and explosiveness, Davis is sure to develop into a high major prospect as long as he continues to work on his skills and develops his game.

here is some video of him in action as well (he is number 14)

It's nice to hear a little talk about '10 recruiting class.  Hopefully, Buzz wins him over.

I've seen Davis play and personally I'm kind of apathetic about him.  He has the skill to play at a high level but I don't see the drive sometimes and he isn't big on the defensive end when it comes to effort.  Maybe he can prove me wrong but right now I'm up in the air.

he is sixteen years old mind you. normally young kids think offense first defense second. look for him to improve drastically in the next year when he realizes that defense is the other half of the game.

well said bleed...i's not that the kids dont care in fact they have a tremendous desire.  it is frustrating as a coach but in many cases they sim[ly lack the mature to understand which end of the court games are won on.  they bust there asses on the offensive end to win and a kid that looks tired on defense is all of a sudden full of energy on the offensive side.  yet after the game if they lose they are really upset, its not that they did not want to win it's simply a matruity thing and they are playing gofr fuan and the offensive end is more fun, defense is hard work it's a maturity thing.
