Compliments of my Dawgs at Ugasports.com...

1st Recruit-nik:
"He's a blue collar, lunch pail toting, hard working, does the dirty work, dives for every ball, gets to more rebounds than he should, overachieving type of player. Will he ever start at Marquette? Not likely. But smart coaches don't restrict their recruiting to kids who project 100% to be starters. Tanner Smith is an example. Morrow impressed me more and more every time I saw him. He isn't a running game post player, but will do well in spurts of play if he has to run. He will contribute in a year or two off the bench and be a good influence on everyone else.

What most impressed me was that despite the fact that Columbia had several Div 1 prospects like Leslie on the floor, it was Morrow who usually was the go-to guy at the end of their games. They went to the championship game the last two years, so what does that make the guy on their team with the biggest heart? I think it makes him a good signing for Marquette, no matter what the recruiting rating says or what the tape measure says.

He was consistent and his averages, which I posted in a recent thread, were good. He throws a mean elbow. He outplayed Tony Woods in the playoffs this year. I'm not saying I would trade any of our post players for him, but I think he deserves more praise than he gets."

2nd Recruit-nik:
"Very Accurate... will likely not be a stater at a high major program like Marquette, but as gacard suggests is a role guy who can give you quality off the bench and who will lead by example with hustle."

kind of a mixed bag, I suppose.
plays hard, but won't contribute for a couple of years.

sounds like a burke or hazel with those comments.

good to hear he's a battler...

guess we'll see.

thanks for that post.

That's very interesting.  Thanks for posting it.  He sure sounds better than Burke or Hazel to me.  Buzz will have to decide if this is the sort of big who can contribute next season.

the guy told you in a year or two, not next year. We do not need another project. O'Tule is project enough.

This is one guys opinion on a player not on his team.  Let Buzz decide.  We don't know how Otule will pan out in terms of play ability so I think it is a bigger risk not to have an alternative after Burke graduates.  And we still have three available scholarship for next year to potentially land that dream big.  I say snag Morrow if we can.

Just to be clear, there are quotes from two different UGA Hoops recruit-niks.  The second quote comes at "Very Accurate..."

Last Warrior can you get some video on Morrow?  Maybe seeing is believing.

Even if he can't contribute next year, I'd rather take a guy, get him in the system and see things in his 2nd or 3rd years than bank it.  We need to get quality bigs in the system.  Having him and Otoule in the program ups the odds that we'll have a compentant big man in 2010, 2011.

Depends, if Buzz is the recruiter everyone is making him out to be, you might just want to bank the scholarship and get someone better.  Now, if Buzz doesn't think he can get anyone better, then take him.

So either Buzz can recruit and we should pass, or Buzz can't recruit and we should get him?

  :-\

Is it possible Buzz can recruit, and the kid is worthy of a scholarship?  Time will tell.  Buzz will bring him in and decide if he wants to offer.
