Hall lands a big recruit in 340-pound Melvin Oliver

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/weiss/2008/04/seton-hall-lands-a-big-recruit.html

Seton Hall got a huge commitment - and we mean that literally - today when 6-11, 340-pound Melvin Oliver of Mississippi Elite Christian Academy announced for the Pirates, choosing the Hall over Nebraska. Oliver was one of the best prospects still available this spring.

• Nick Williams, a 6-5 guard from LeFlore High in Mobile, Ala., who originally signed with Indiana but received a release after Tom Crean left to accept the coaching job at Indiana, will follow Crean to his new address in the Big Ten. Williams was the state 6A Player of the Year and should give Crean a nice piece of the puzzle as he starts rebuilding. Guard Tyshawn Taylor from St. Anthony's, who also received a release from Marquette, is visiting Kansas, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Florida. We make Kansas - whose assistant coach Joe Dooley has strong ties to North Jersey and has already signed Quintrell Thomas of St. Patrick's of Elizabeth and the talented Morris twins - Marcus and Markieff - from Apex Academy in Pennsauken - the early favorite.

• Tyler Hansbrough's little brother Ben, a sophomore guard who averaged close to 11 points for Mississippi State, has announced his intentions to transfer from that SEC school and we hear Notre Dame is right in the mix.

340? hes going to have to report down 40 lbs to be able to survive 5 mins on the court in the BE

bma725

Shower the court with burgers maybe?  Hang beef scented air fresheners in front of the vents at the BC?

Seriously, he'll struggle to make it up and down the court more than a couple times, unless he really gets in shape, MU won't have problems.

Yeah but what happens when Jarel or DJ drive the lane and he falls on them?

Run.  He won't even be across half cout when we have a shot off.

Lil' Hansbrough might be coming to the Big East...

I heard in the SEC when he had the ball they chanted "Tyler's Shadow, clap clap clap clap, Tyler's Shadow", if he goes to Notre Dame, we should continue that chant, it's great.

I cant even remember a bball player w/ that much weight being any good. Come to think of it, I can't remember a bball player with that much weight being bad either.

Shaq was pretty good in his prime.  But now he's a pretty useless fatass.
