If Buzz can get TT back onboard, it will say a lot about his abilities as a coach and recruiter. If he doesn't succeed, I guess it really doesn't say much either way. It is a difficult situation created by the former coach. But if he can salvage the situation it will go a long way to increasing my optimism.

Don't count on it. Hurley seems to not want the kid to go to Marquette anymore, and I bet he has a lot of sway with the kid.

Its not Hurley's decision, this guy seems like a ego maniac.  If he really wants whats best for his players then let them make the decision.

Zagoria clarified Hurley's statements in the comments section:

I've gotten a number of concerned emails from Marquette fans, and can understand their feelings. I think Coach Hurley is primarily upset with the process whereby a coach can leave a school, but the kid must remain committed. I don't think he holds anything against Marquette, per se. That said, he has repeatedly said Marquette must now "re-recruit" Tyshawn, starting with Friday's pivotal meeting with Coach Williams in Jersey City. If that meeting goes well, and Tyshawn feels comfortable, then Marquette could have hope of keeping him. If not, or if Hurley and Taylor decide another school, like Virginia or Georgia Tech, is a better fit, then he could be gone.

Man...what if we lost both Shumpert AND Taylor to GTech....what a kick in the balls that would be from the Yellow Jackets.

Williams asked out too.  I'm more concerned about him.  We have enough PG's right now. Buzz needs to get his bald head down to AL.

Taylor's a better player than Williams.  And Williams already said he has no interest in MU without Crean as coach regardless of who it is.

Buzz Williams' decision to get out ASAP to meet with Taylor explains the points you make.
