Summary of Crean on WTMJ
« on: April 03, 2008, 07:39:36 PM »
Joined in late but the report seemed to have a Crean love fest.  Ask some tough questions buddy!

Crean:
- Not a divorce, I'm leaving
- Program in incredible shape
- Will be a top 10 year next year
- As long as noone makes a mistake by leaving or jumping ship it will be real quick
- Not good because of what TC did but because of the administration, fans, students, etc.
- School knows they have a great thing going
- Important I say goodbye
- Sat in office last night and worked late trying to get in touch with people
- Will try to get calls made that need to get made
- Tough on his family
- Emotional leaving their home
- Would have been easy if there was a reason to leave
- There was no reason to leave
- Hard decesion
- Just went with it, happy about it
- No idea what grace period is at Marquette
- Took Indiana job for long haul
- There will be an adjustment peroid at Marquette
- Excited about the move
- Made mistakes along way at Marquette but got more from players than  anyone imagined
- Proud of all fans who came out
- Not going to focus on columns with no credibilty
- Will look back on it someday and think he lived a pretty good life
- Thanked everyone for the last 9 years

A love fest indeed. That was ridiculous. I guess that's why he was on here, and not, with Homer. That's an interview I'd love to hear.

That was probably the biggest BS interview I have ever seen not only by Crean but the reporter as well.  Screw that.

Have the balls to ask some real questions buddy.

Better yet, dispatch Mark Belling on Crean.  Yeah, Mark's an idiot when it comes to sports (and the rest is up to debate based your political POV), but he's an extremely agressive reporter and interviewer.  He'd tear Crean to pieces.
The General has taken on a new command.

Wow, that was like a tee ball game.

Michaels would basically give Crean a compliment, not a question, and Crean would expound on the compliment with his typical flowery string of adjectives.

Did they think that talking up IU would help MU people deal with this?  He had to end every comment about how great MU was with...and it is going to be great here too.

Screw it.  I couldn't care less what it is going to be like for him in Indiana.

Crean says he was never offered another job / never sought another job.

I guess Jim Boylan is a liar, then.

Crean himself admitted being offered the Arkansas job and made sure to tell everybody how much they offered

Don't you know, no coach is ever offered a job...directly.   ;)
