But you said this was a program we would build together

But you even left messages on my dorm room phone personally asking me to attend basketball game

But you gave us pizza/donuts when we were waiting outside in the cold

I feel like such a sucker . . .

That was good.

What's the deal with the perma-tan?

What a stupid haircut!

He looks like a rat going back and forth along the sideline!

Any other comments that we always had to deflect that we can now agree with?

I feel the same way.  I was a sophomore during Creans first year.  I was completley in shock today.  I dont think I have had a sane/rational/thoughtful reaction since I've found out.  I feel like I was cheated on.  I've been in disbelief, been sad, been angry, but mostly just feel like everything TC ever told me about wanting to bring back the glory days was a lie.  Man, I remember when he said MU was his dream job.  I feel stupid for believing his lies.  9 years I believed him, I dont think I'd be so upset/distraught/disappointed if I had any inkling that this was coming.  I mean, its one thing if it was for MSU, but Indiana...despite their penalities?!?!?  I just dont get it.....

If Crean had left four or five years ago, I wouldn't have been bitter. Probably just as distraught, but not bitter. Crean spent all this time telling us how this is where he wanted to be, how he was committed for the long haul, blah blah blah. He had me believing him, when in fact he had his eye on the prettier girl all along.

Getting unexpectedly dumped really is the best analogy for this.

jaybilaswho?

He used to send me emails asking me to get down to the bradley center decked out in yellow and ready to scream.

He used to be on the jumbo screen informing me of the other team and what it was that he wanted from me and the other MU faithful.

most importantly.... he said he would call... what an ass.

i guess Indiana doesnt have anything similar to Al's Run that Crean and Harbough wife have to attend/plan/spokespeople.

Can we stop drinking Diet Pepsi now?

Hey, you remember he started drinking Diet Coke at the BET!!!! The betrayal was already beginning!!!

And as for the dumping analogy -- i definitely broke the news to my family as "Tom Crean broke up with Marquette" which may be a little childish, but i don't think it's far off.  This one is going to hurt for awhile.  Good riddance, maybe our star players won't be injured right before the postseason anymore!!!

Shack

I feel worse then getting dumped.  I feel like I came home and caught my wife in bed with Trevor Mbakwe.

I too was a sophmore when Crean became head coach.  He is really the one that turned me on to Marquette basketball.  I did not even go to one game as a freshman ...Deane's last year.  So, basically, I do not know Marquette basketball without Tom Crean.  That is making this really difficult for me.....many people on this board have been through coaching changes.  This is definitely tough.

That being said, I am not going to go on a rant of ripping greasy, slimy, oily Tom Crean.  He is gone...the past is the past....I am really excited/interested to see who our new coach will be.  I am excited to see what kind of enthusiasm he will bring to the program.  And I am most excited to see if this coach can take us to the next level!  Hopefully, we can minimize the damage to this year's recruiting class......but even if we cannot....I think we will bounce back.  Any program with a committed administration, enthusiastic fan base, and a loyal student body will always find a way to bounce back.  For those people saying...."our program is in shambles".....get a life....we are not even 72 hours out from Crean's departure.  Either be a supporter of the program....or take a hike.  Exciting times are ahead for MU Hoops!
