After replaying that game in my head for the past 30 hours or so (anyone else sleep like crap Sat. night?)... here's what I took away from it.

-I only have issues with two possessions. The one late where Lazar took on Lopez, and the last shot of regulation. The trend I have noticed with Jerel, and it almost never fails, is that Jerel can hit threes only off a catch, not the dribble. With 9 seconds left, James should have brought the ball up and they should have ran something for McNeal coming around a screen, or a pass off of penetration.

-Our bigs did a pretty decent job when the twins had the ball, but unfortunately it was too late at that point. Let's face it, they were handcuffed in the second half. Looking back to the job they did on Harangody in the BET... pushing him out so he could not establish position, and then pushing back when he tried to back down... that didn't happen, in large part because the refs wouldn't let it happen.

-I can't help but think picking them up fullcourt would have been huge in the second half. MU allowed Stanford to get in too much of a rythym offensively, and some pressure could have at least made it more difficult to come down and make an entry pass.

-Robin Lopez looks like a damn chia pet. I wanted to punch that clown in the face during the game.

-One of the things that I just can't get over is what might have been. We match up really, really well with Texas, and to be honest I think MU could beat them. Would have been a great backcourt battle, and I'll take our guys any day. It's a shame they won't have a shot at them.

-Looking ahead... if DJ stays it will be a boost, but not a lock for any more success than we had this year. The improvement of Burke, Mbakwe, and Hazel, along with any contributions from Otule are the key to next season. We know what we're gonna get from the big 3 and Hayward. The added depth in the backcourt will be a plus as well. But, the 4/5 guys absolutely have to improve if this team is going to go any further next year.

You'd take our guys any day?

I mean, we're good, but really?

Have you watched Texas at all this year? D.J. Augustine is pretty much the consensus best point guard in the country, and A.J. Abrams is lights out.

Yeah, we could beat them, but it would be with great Defense and an all around team effort, and heck, a little luck that Texas is off.

Overall i think the match-up to watch if that game had taken place would have been Lazar vs. Damion James.

Too bad though, it would have been a hell of a game

consensus best PG in the country... consensus by who?  Digger Phelps, Dick Vitale, and the rest of the panel at ESPN... yes hes very good, but best PG I don't think so...there are only two consensus's in the country, that Beasley is the best player in the country, and Hansbrough is going to get Player of the Year(because he is psycho T, the hardest player to watch have success, flop flop flop flop)

but I think Texas is very beatable...and a bit over-rated... they lost to Wisconsin in Austin, out of all the 2's, I think they were the least deserving(them and Duke).  What sucks is I think Stanford can beat them, I really do, and I don't want to see them go any further.  Usually when a team beats MU I want them to win it all, so we lose to the champs, however Stanford is different, don't like the school, don't like the team, nothing about them is good enough for me to root for them to win.
