NavinRJohnson

Tremendously strong at the end of the game, when they needed him the most (I know Lazaar will likely get the honor though.).

BrewCity83

8 for 8 free throws in the final 31 seconds.  He's so clutch.  He wasn't shooting so well from the field today though.

Jerel or Lazar were co-studs, IMO.

Sorry not with the way he played the first 30 minutes. I nominate the big 3 for finally losing that donut next to NCAA victories.

Thomas' Danish Delight

Money Matthews, baby.  Money Matthews.

BrewCity83

Homer & Mac picked Wes for their player of the game.

we still need that money player to ice games -matthews came thru today

Is James ok?
Mcneal?
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

MU_83_florida

you got to give it to Wes he was clutch at the end

NavinRJohnson

Just noticed the button pushers decided to go with Jerel.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Big Papi

I second the nomination that all 3 amigos should be the stud of the game.  McNeal hit some big shots early.  DJ hit a big 3 and had some great drives and Matthews after not doing much all game hits some HUGE free throws at the end.  Also they get the monkey off their back.

Word, I concur.

Lazar was huge too...I'm fine if no one was able to record the game and upload highlights, cuz ESPN NEEEEDS to put up that facial on that one dude.  If they don't, there better be And 1 Mix tape action on the highlights, cuz that was sick.

that'd be me.. I don't give stud to the guy who shows up at the end.. I give stud to the guy who played the entire game.. and I refrain from giving co-studs (unlike john madden and the entire defense on the horse trailer fiasco) thought about lazar but he seemed to make as many boneheaded plays in the first half as he did good ones in the second.. mcneal is the king until knocked off his throne.

Long live the king!

i agree, mcneal is the king, besides wes clutch free throws, he did nothing else the whole game, lazar played well tho

Mayor McCheese

the only problem I have giving it to McNeal, is the guy he was guarding scored 35... oof, granted Crawford was unconscious today, but man, a lot of open looks.

pure genius stuff by Bill Simmons, remember to read day 2

Thomas' Danish Delight

Yeah, Crawford did shake McNeal a few times...but maybe it was the shoes?  Or isn't some of y'all saying something about the court?  Our guys were slippin' and slidin' more than usual today.

RawdogDX

I don't think you should get stud of the game because the other team fouls you, while trailing, at the end of the game unless you are at least part of the reason they were trailing.  Wes did nothing the first 30 minutes and was not the reason that we were ahead and thus shooting free throws.

mu_hilltopper

I'm with Rawdog.  Until Wes' 8 FTs in the last minute, he wasn't part of the solution.   Especially since the refs weren't calling fouls on his drives.  His usual MO is to crash the basket, throw up a prayer, and hope for a whistle. That didn't work today.

BrewCity83

I don't think Wes should be stud of the game either. HOWEVER--if he doesn't nail all 8 of those free throws in the last 31 seconds, we might still be playing.
