Can we give TC some credit?
« on: March 13, 2008, 11:14:52 PM »
Good adjustments.
Good set plays against zone.

This is what happens when players execute properly.

Best move of the night was NDs inbound out of timeout after hitting those ridiculous 3s. Crean called a press, force Mac into the corner, trapped, had to pass out and Jackson forced up a bad shot.

I have said before that TC is not a great game coach, but he did a good job tonight.

TC's biggest W since UK.  HUGE.  IMO he silenced a lot of critics, including yours truely.

One thing I like about TC is that he's created the kind of team that we can get behind, and they play the kind of basketball that we like to watch: Tenacious D, and they get out on the floor and run.  When they play the way they can, it's a thing of beauty.

I was just talking to my dad tonight about how lucky I felt that the school I fell in love with and chose happened to be one that's not just good at basketball but so fricking entertaining to watch too.

TC said on ESPN that he reamed them at half for only playing 10 minutes in the first half, being soft on the perimeter.  Best adjustment was Mo with some extended minutes against Mac with some nice full court pressure.  Not waiting for the TV timeout around the 12:30 mark of the 2nd half and giving an earful for not picking up on D with Hagrid getting a couple chippies off the break.  His intensity translated to relentlessness.  Team closed very nicely with great clock management at the end.  With Pitt in OT today, we can go much deeper into our bench to wear them down tomorrow.

Give TC credit for playing 12 guy in a close game only two players log 30 minutes that was james and matthews.  Where as Pitt had 5 players with more then 33 minutes this might be a factor tomorrow

When Gody got that second dunk, Crean was going ballistic and rightfully so.  That turned their intensity around very quickly.

TC, credit for tonight, made me proud  :-\ he was our coach for the first time since '03.

but i'm with 2323 (actually a step more), Sweet 16 is where this team needs to be.  too much talent and too much experience to be happy with winning 1 game in NCAAs.

I dunno, for a while I thought he was shaving points when he pulled Fitz as soon as he got hot.  Then, he put Cubes & Mo in for a disasterous few mins.  He did manage to keep us behind w/ hairygoat on the bench.  I think we won because we got hot from the arc..., otherwise, as Al used to say, tap city.
