Sir Lawrence

Inexplicably, we are ranked higher than Georgetown in the Pomeroy ratings:

MU #8

Georgetown #9

Does it have to do with their performance in the game as well as ours? Or even the minuscule loss we endured?

I believe Pomeroy uses statistical factors to come up with his ranking. He can explain it better than I can- http://www.kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/ratings_explanation/

Wisconsin was also ranked higher in the Pomeroy rankings before and after we beat them.

We were ranked higher than Georgetown going into the game.  The final statistical difference between our two teams was not all that great, as evidenced by a two point loss.  Therefore, this small advantage for Georgetown would not have changed the results.
