RIP Violet Hensley

It doesn't have a ton of appeal for me, living wise, but to the person, everyone I know who has lived for any period of time in NW Arkansas in the Fayetteville/Bentonville metro has raved about it.  Natural beauty, quality of life, etc...  And this encompasses people originally from California, the tri State, DC, upstate New York, and Chicagoland.

would like an update in a few years when the area doesn't have some old lady who plays the violin anymore.

I have been to 49 states. The only one missing is Arkansas. And yes, I plan to go next year.

If my list was still missing 12 states or something, I wouldn't bother. But when you've been to 49, you at least have to have lunch in #50, right?

There must be something worth seeing in Arkansas.

Eureka Springs is the place to go. It's in the northwest corner of the state probably 50 miles east of Bentonville.

An old hippie haven. And if you own any kind of a drum, bring it with. You won't regret it.

This is what I have heard also. Lots of natural beauty, recreation.

Senior year of Marquette, a bunch of friends rented a van and drove to South Padre Island for spring break.  We stopped in Arkansas to fill up the gas tank.  Some guy at the station filling up his tank saw the Wisconsin plate and informed us "You boys picked a good time to come to Arkansas, it's crappie season." (Referring to croppie fish.)

Having been there, I wouldn't say you're "missing" anything.
