Quote from: onepost on Today at 03:36:37 PMShaka late to postgame. Word is he's reminding the team how proud he is they "poured into each other" down 25 and "got lost on the court" on defense. Encouraging!

The guys tried hard and are good friends, so he decided to order milkshakes anyway because the Babcock Dairy Store is known to have great ice cream.

Haven't seen a post of his in over a week. Seems to avoid this plaice in times of disarray

Quote from: nyg on Today at 04:32:59 PMHaven't you realized that after four plus years that Shaka's offense is if the three point shot is there, take it.  He has stated repeatedly, he has no problem with it. Today they were 9 for 29 and those stats were saved by the second team hitting three for four at the end.  Live or die.  His problem is that he has not recruited/portalled anyone who can actually shoot the three on a consistent basis. A lot of those misses today and in past games this year were wide open.  Wisky makes their wide open.  When not shooting threes, Ross and James just dribble around the three point line, no passing.  Not going to change.

Shaka's defense is aggressive and double teams the ball, bring the bigs out to double and be very handsy.  That leads to doubled player kicking out for shot, doubled player passing inside while MU big out front and excessive fouls on reach ins.  Wisky exploited all of the above. Not going to change.

That's a good point to make almost a total green light for his guys to chuck up three balls to their hearts content, yet rarely is shooting ability one of our recruits strength or even 2nd best skill?  What kind of idiot does that??

Shaka played 11 guys today. Owens didn't get in the game. If Lowry, Hamilton, et al. are misses, what does that make Owens?  I know no other school wanted Hamilton. Were Owens, Sean Jones, Lowry, Gold, etc highly sought after recruits?

And why run an offense that gives everyone the green light for the 3 when no one on the team can shoot the 3?

True, but we're not exactly lighting it up from 2 either.

Didn't watch it and I'm glad I didn't waste those two hours.  This team is Dukiet-terrible.

Owens was sick and didn't travel with the team.

Yes, but I was referring to the disconnect between how he wants to play vs. the kind of players he's bringing in.

Because that is his system, even when he had decent shooters, including 4 NBA players, three of whom could actually make shots.  It's just not this year. Just go back to NCAAT:

2022 as #9 seed against NC.  8 for 31
2024 as #2 seed against NCST 4 for 31
2025 as #7 seed against NMEX 11 for 30
Over 30 threes a game.  Didn't work out.
