Quote from: WhiteTrash on January 05, 2026, 06:33:58 PMThat's fair, but Bears fans are talking football, and not draft, in January.  ;D

I've been beaten down over the years, so "just happy to be here" applies to me.

I'm with you...to an extent. I've went up and down a lot over the years.  From breaking a picture frame that fell off the wall when I slammed a door after the double doink to having multiple years during Fox/Nagy where I don't think I watched more than a couple full games in the season, just wasn't worth the headache/annoyance.

So I definitely have some "happy to be here" vibes mixed with a bemused "wow this is what it's like to still care about results in December again".  I started the season eager to see Johnson's plan and offense and Williams's growth.  I got amped for the close/improbable wins and didn't really get too down about losses.  That changed around the Eagles game.  Then it was suddenly "oh man, they might be a good team that is overachieving, not a mediocre team getting lucky enough to overachieve".

Now my respect for Johnson and intrigue in watching him grow as a coach has me altering my expectations and allowing myself to be annoyed when merited.  They won the division and made the playoffs, both for the first time in too long.  So whatever happens on Saturday, it's been a wildly successful year against expectations.  If it was anyone but the Packers, I probably wouldn't be all the bummed if they lost after the initial frustration.

But that being said...they have a home playoff game, man.  Thats enough to get me amped and expecting more fun

"Though Minnesota is open to bringing in veteran competition for the 22-year-old, O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah have no plans to move on from the quarterback they traded up to draft less than two years ago. McCarthy's continued development will be a central storyline for the Vikings as they enter an offseason filled with questions surrounding their aging and expensive roster."

Throw in a couple of 1sts and the Bears might be willing to part with Bagent.
Could probably get Caleb straight up, though.

Bears might have to throw in a first if he keeps painting his nails

You got something against guys who like to paint their nails? Don't knock it until you try it. It makes me feel pretty.
Wild horses couldn't drag me into either political party, but for very different reasons.

Muggsy tried it. It threw off his center of gravity, which is really saying something.
