SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) — Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who as teenage son Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," was central to a cultural phenomenon that helped define the 1980s, died at age 54 in an accidental drowning in Costa Rica, authorities there said Monday.

Also and accomplished jazz musician and poet.  Its not easy to sustain, much less further build, a career when you start out on one of the most famous/beloved sitcoms of all time.  But he did and stayed consistently working for 30+ years after.
