The only one I thought would be Darryl Morsell, but he didn't make the list in 2021.

Seriously, though, the list of truly elite MU defenders over the last 40 years is not as long as one would like.

This season Stevie has moved into 2nd place on my list of all-time favorite Marquette defensive guards

Dwyane Wade was defensive player of the year in the conference. He was elite on both sides.

Am I crazy/misremembering Jae Crowder as a hound defensively?  He averaged 1.0 blocks, 2.5 steals, and 6.4 defensive rebounds per game.

He's currently listed at 6'6" 235 on the Kings roster. Jop is listed 6'8" 225.

Jae finished his Senior season near 18 points 9 rebounds per game. Wish Jop would use his size to grab more boards and get a few more easy buckets at the basket rather than chuck 3s all day. He's taken 156 3s this year, 33 more than Kam who's 2nd on the team.

I think Jops defense has come a long way. Just venting some frustrations with his effort and decision making at times by comparing him to Jae who was also an undersized 4, but did all those effort and decision making things well.
