All stats have flaws, especially defensive stats, but just for fun I added points plus rebounds, plus assists, plus steals, plus blocked shots, minus turnovers, took the total and divided it by minutes played to see how current players would rank:

1. Ross .851, 2. James .780, 3. Lowery .744, 4. Clark .733, 5. Parham .647, 6. Gold .639, 7. Norman .630, 8. Stevens .534, 9. Hamilton .497, 10. Jones .437, 11. Phillips .407, 12. Owens .406.

I suspect Stevens with extended playing time will soar in this and Jones will move up too, I would guess. Surprised Lowery scored so well compared to others. Recency bias on my part. Has not played well of late, obviously.

Phillips is supposed to be in high school and appears nervous, which is understandable. Still think he'll be a good player. Nice shot, might not be done growing. Maybe a future stretch 4?

Not surprised Clark scored well here. Sure most of his minutes come at the end of games already decided, but he's looked good and I don't understand why everyone lumps him and Hamilton together. Clark is 7-1 with a massive wingspan and is only his second year of benefiting from college coaching/weight room/going against college competition in practice every day. Hamilton is 6-9 and in his third year.

Was shocked to see someone, sorry I forgot who posted it, give Ross a low grade. I'd give him a B+. Carrying such a big load it's not reasonable to expect him to be AS crazy good a defender as he was in past years.

Add points, rebounds, assists, steals blocks, subtract turnovers and divide by minutes played.

In a previous post I gave Ross a lower semester grade due to turnovers, shooting percentage, and failed execution in critical moments (not getting a shot off as time expires). He's a solid support player, but wouldn't be a 1 or 2 on most good teams.
