Uncle Rico

Hard to believe he made it to 80.  Just a monster of rock and blues

So Jaimoe is the only OG left.

Extremely accomplished guitarist. His soloes were so rich because he didn't rely on the pentatonic scale like 90% of guitarists do.

And his playing was a great combo of his country style with the slide guitar of Duane and blues guitar of Greg.

I wore out the Live at Fillmore East album.

I wore out the Live at Fillmore East album.

Like Darkside of the Moon and several other titles, I lost count of how many copies of Fillmore East I've purchased: LP, MFSL 1/2 speed, CD, deluxe CD boxset etc.

BTW, I don't know how hawt a take this is, but I think the death of Duane Allman might be the greatest "what if" in rock history. Jim Morrison I think had kind of played out, and I'm not sure Jimi was ever going to be more than a shooting star, but the Allman Brothers were just so damn good musically. And I wonder if he had lived if they would have avoided the substance abuse issues that plagued them afterwards.
