I was thinking the same.  He's a pretty major character.  Unless they open the next season with him passing somehow then someone fills his role.

I think the majority of the story moving forward is going to focus on retaking the planet

The best part about his stretch on Arrested Development was that it was his idea for his character to be super cheap and stingy. 

Another actor with legendary macho roles...who all of a sudden showed amazing comedic ability and timing later in his career
