This was mentioned in Kam and Stevie's new podcast.  My favorite part starts ~24-26 minutes in... getting to why Oso/Kam/Stevie hung with Shaka.... "3 years later, he hasn't missed a day".  Shaka is the real deal.

I'd assume very early. Oso is older than them both and they were all in HS at this time.  Probably didn't even know each other.

If there was really no connection at that point, the pan over to Oso is almost creepy (in hindsight, not at the time)

That's the whole point of the video.

They mentioned in their podcast that it is crazy that they have footage of them playing against one another and Oso just happened to walk by. They had no connection at the time.
