The only real issue is calling the fan the problem. Swinney is correct in that he has earned his check based on unprecedented success at a school not accustomed to winning at that level. And fans should accept some down years, particularly at that type of program.

But it's not Tyler from Spartanburg's fault that fan expectations have grown or that Clemson isn't as good this year. Own that part and Swinney is fine.
