Tucker Carlson Is Creating a New Media Company
https://www.wsj.com/articles/tucker-carlson-is-creating-a-new-media-company-8e21b909
Former Fox News host and associate look to raise funds for new venture that could use Twitter as its backbone

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and former White House adviser Neil Patel are seeking to raise funds to start a new media company that would potentially use Twitter as its backbone, according to people familiar with the matter.

The new company would be anchored by longer versions of the free videos that Carlson has been posting regularly on Twitter since shortly after his departure from Fox News, but would ultimately be driven by subscriptions, some of the people said.

Carlson and Patel are looking to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to fund the company, the people said.

Users of Twitter and other platforms would still be able to watch free, shorter versions of his show, interviews and documentaries, but would need to subscribe to watch them in their entirety, the people said. The company would eventually add shows from additional hosts, they said.

It's so sad how this dog whistling racist homophobe has been marginalized since leaving FOX. A few Twitter shows here and there but by and large he's a nobody again.

Perhaps. Perhaps it is guilt by association. But that's where the Republican party squarely is these days, loudly and proudly.

Hey that's not fair, didn't you see where Tommy Tuberville bravely stood up and declared that white nationalism is racism.

Incredible courage.

Fair.    Here is the problem.   The racist, anti-semitic, election denying, conspiracy embracing wing of the Republican party is ascendant at the moment.    The Mitt Romney, Larry Hogan, Rick Snyder wing is being called RINO.   And the traditional low tax, libertarian, minimal foreign entanglement conservative is no longer speaking out against the crazy.

So, Lenny, you are correct.   However, with the dominant messaging from the GOP these days, it is an easy mistake to make.

💯

To the moon.

I voted for Mitt in 2012 and now I'm voting for an apparently pedophile grandpa likes to tongue young children while also running a billion dollar crime family.

The GOP expects me to fear the Bidens as some sinister mafia outfit controlled by satan.  Meanwhile Trump is on tape bragging how he can grab them by the kitten.

The projection is mind blowing.

What ever label they get, they own.  They bought this.

Right.

And here's the thing. Biden has been mildly effective, but hardly beloved by Dems. If he was actually manipulating some criminal enterprise, almost everyone would agree that he SHOULD be arrested.

But he's not. He's a lifelong politician and D.C. insider from a bygone era whose best days are behind him. Yet, for all his faults, he may just win again because Republicans are fighting battles that only a segment of the population actually cares about.  2012 Mitt Romney would CRUSH Biden IMO, but he has no chance in this environment.

I'm sure there will be, but not for investment reasons.  From a completely non-political standpoint, there is no way investors make the kind of return they would normally expect from other companies raising this amount.  Subscription and ad revenues just don't add up for significant ROI.  On top of that, the plan is to anchor the whole thing on Twitter, given all of its issues? Blech.

To get involved in this, an investor would either need to believe Tucker is a unicorn multiple standard deviations from the mean above the next most powerful media personality, or would have to be getting involved for access or political reasons.

The hate, intolerance, racism, lies, call to arms and hypocrisy on both sides is sad, but is nothing new.

Friends from both parties tell me about the abhorrent behavior about the other party, and they are correct.

I feel like Bernie Sanders is the most honorable and ethical of the national figures.  Too bad the Dems railroaded his future with super delegates. (I don't agree with all his policies, just  speaking about his character)
